You have...
Entered the Realm!

All of the Gundul's Realm board games are linked to one another to provide you uniquely-storied adventures and to give "life" to your character!  Yes, your character will experience life, drama, and triumph in Gundul's Realm. The tabs below explain the Realm and how to play this experience.

Be warned:

You are about to embark on an odyssey unlike any other!

Gundul The Dark Wizard has requested your aid in restoring Gundul's Realm.  Through this website, Gundul will give you quests to complete through the use of your purchased Gundul's Realm board game(s).  These storied campaigns will require you to complete objectives using the Monopolis, Gates of Kel, and Halls of Muratogh board games.  Even if you only possess one of these games, you can still participate in this epic journey!

This is not a simple "play the game" adventure.  No, no... it is much BIGGER than that!  You are requested to create a character (or characters) for Gundul's quests.  Your character will live and progress within this Realm.  The information on the tabs here will guide you through the Realm and how start your character's life in Gundul's Realm.

There are 16 kingdoms within Gundul's Realm representing the four gifts of The Divine: Halfling, Dwarf, Human, and Elf. Each kingdom is dominated by the race of its region. The kingdoms are mostly amicable toward each other, but unseen parties are always plotting to shift the balance of power.  Scroll below to "The Kingdoms" section to read the descriptions for each kingdom.

Choose the home kingdom for your character.

Successful completion of objectives in your quests you will reward your character with Realm Points and Realm GP (gold pieces).  Spending Realm Points on achievement titles will increase your character's rank within their home kingdom, grant you gameplay advantages, and provide storied elements to your character. There may be a ruling family in the throne room today, but your achievements can place you on the throne tomorrow!

Note: Do not confuse Realm GP with the gold coins that are used in Monopolis.  Realm GP is a completely different currency.

The 16 kingdoms of The Devine are sparsely located throughout Gundul's Realm.  What fills the void between beautiful foliage and desolate landscapes are an array of hostile territories containing 30 disgruntled factions.  These communal factions are often rallied into service by any of the 12 nefarious Archvillains, or by a member of the conspiring 6 diabolical Lords of Evil.  To make matters worse, 5 Forsaken Entities currently lay dormant... each wanting to claim the Realm as its private sanctuary!

The 12 Archvillains will only reveal themselves when directly confronted, and the names of the Forsaken Entities are never to be uttered!  But we do know the 6 Lords of Evil -- for they each have escaped here to Gundul's Realm from parallel planes of existence when they noticed Gundul had momentarily left the Realm.

          • A scourged Draco-Lich is the vile Lord of Destruction
          • The devious and calculating Dracula himself is the ruthless Lord of Darkness
          • The ash-born Azul the dragon is the fiendish Lord of Chaos
          • The wretched Rot Queen is the wicked Lady of Pestilence
          • A Fallen Wing of The Devine is the heinous Lady of Despair
          • and... Shin Oni... the merciless Lord of Calamity

What is an adventure without treasure?  With the completion of objectives during quests, your character will be awarded:

          • Realm Points
          • Realm GP (gold pieces)
          • Realm items
          • Mystic Objects

Realm Points (RP) grants you the option to purchase the following:

          • Resurrection:  Yes, your character may expire during these adventures.  You can spend Realm Points to bring your character back to life!
          • Achievement Titles:  Achievement Titles will increase your character's rank within their home kingdom, grant you gameplay advantages in the board games, and provide storied elements to your character.

Realm GP (gold pieces) are a realm currency that allows you to purchase healing, story items, story property, and story experiences for your character.

          • Realm GP can be spent to heal your character of damage rings acquired in Halls of Muratogh after completing the event (if your character is still alive).  Without healing, your character keeps the acquired damage rings for the next event.
          • Realm GP that is spent to purchase story items, story property, and/or story experiences do not impact board game gameplay.  These purchases are merely to provide additional life experiences, context, and drama to your character.  Note: Do not confuse Realm GP with the gold coins that are used in Monopolis.  Realm GP is a completely different currency.

Realm Items are collected as found objects after completing objectives.  A Realm Item may be a shabby potion, a fine Flail, a magic scepter... or anything!  Using the Realm "Item Bingo Card", track which items your character has collected.  5 marks in a row, column, or diagonal line each awards 3 Realm Points.   Again, Realm Points are used to resurrect a fallen character and to purchase Achievement Titles.

Mystic Objects are divinely created or influenced artifacts, relics, items, or devices that defy logical thinking and the rules of magic. When you are near possession of a mystic object, you will be questioned as to whether or not you will keep it. Declining ownership of a mystic object has no positive or negative effect on you. However, agreeing to own a mystic object imparts upon you the knowledge of its effect. Mystic Objects may:

          • inflict your character with an ailment,
          • negate an ailment from being applied to your character,
          • provide an extra ordinary ability to your character,
          • or simply have no effect on your character at all.

Because of the potential nature of mystic objects to wreak havoc across the realm, the "Order of the Eye" has charged you with the acquisition and transport of mystic objects to the Order for proper containment and disposal.

Realm Items are collected as found objects after completing objectives.  From the list below, select a Collected Item Bingo sheet.  Each sheet contains 2 Item Bingo Cards.  Use the Realm "Item Bingo Card" to track which items your character has collected.  5 marks in a row, column, or diagonal line = 3 Realm Points.  Realm Points are used to resurrect a fallen character and to purchase Achievement Titles.

This is the Market for you to spend your acquired Realm Points and Realm GP (gold pieces).

Realm Points

Realm Points (RP) represent the accolades and fame your character has obtained from adventuring within the Realm.  RP are obtained by completing objectives and from achieving "bingo" on the Item Bingo Cards.  Once Realm Points are spent, your character must earn more to spend more.  Realm Points can be spent on the following.

          • Resurrection - If your character is knocked out in Halls of Muratogh, or lands on the same game space as a roaming monster in Gates of Kel, then your character has... uh, died.  Your character can be resurrected for the cost of 5 Realm Points.  Story: "News of your demise has reached local villagers.  Because of your fame, the villagers solicit a traveling Cleric to plead with The Devine to return you to this world!" If your character does not have enough RP to resurrect, then hold a small memorial service in their honor -- and start a new character to avenge them!
          • Achievement Titles - Achievement Titles will increase your character's rank within their home kingdom, grant you gameplay advantages in the board games, and provide storied elements to your character.  The titles must be purchased sequentially.  The initial titles cost 20 RP.  However, each subsequent Achievement Title varies in cost and requires the previous title.  Scroll below to the section on "Character Progression" for the titles per area (board game).

Realm GP (gold pieces)

Realm GP is treasure that is obtained after completing objectives in your character's quest.  For example, the treasure obtained from defeating a band of Tunnel Orcs may read 150gp. Once Realm GP is spent, your character must earn more to spend more. The following can be purchased with Realm GP.

    • Healing - Damage rings acquired on your character from combat in Halls of Muratogh stay on your character for the next combat event.  The only way to remove them is by healing.  The cost of healing (medical attention, etc.) is 50gp per damage ring.

The following purchasable items are purely for your character's story and development and do not impact board game gameplay (unless stated otherwise).
